Telenor Microfinance Bank partners-up with IGI General Insurance

February 06, 2018:

Telenor Microfinance Bank has partnered with IGI General Insurance to provide protection packages to vehicle drivers in case of any on-road accident. The agreement was signed by Shahid Mustafa, President & CEO – Telenor Microfinance Bank and Tahir Masaud, CEO – IGI General Insurance on Monday, in the presence of representatives from both organizations.
This coverage will be offered to motorists using ‘AUXO’, a state of the art tracking car tracking system which provides real time insights on factors such as speed, location etc. Part of Telenor Pakistan’s Internet of Things (IoT) portfolio, Auxo uses an internet enabled SIM to communicate updates from the car to smartphones or web portals for management purposes.

JCR-VIS Reaffirms Ratings of Telenor Micro Finance Bank Limited at A+/A-1

28th April 2017:

Karachi: JCR-VIS Credit Rating Company Limited (JCR-VIS) has reaffirmed the entity ratings of Telenor Microfinance Bank Limited (TMBL) (previously Tameer Microfinance Bank Limited) at ‘A+/A-1’ (Single A Plus/A-One). Outlook on the assigned rating is ‘Stable’. The previous rating action was announced on April 28, 2016. The assigned ratings to TMBL incorporate implicit support of the Bank’s sponsor ‘Telenor Pakistan B.V’ a Netherland Based Company which is a wholly owned subsidiary of Telenor Norway. Telenor Group has a credit rating of A/A-1 (Single A/ A-One) on the international scale. Ratings also derive strength from TMBL’s healthy liquidity, capitalization and asset quality indicators.

MCB Lite Customers Can Now Deposit, Withdraw Funds from Any Easypaisa Outlet

MCB Bank Limited has entered into an alliance with Telenor Microfinance Bank Limited (Formerly Tameer Microfinance Bank), for its safe, secure, convenient and accessible Easypaisa agent network and mutually beneficial financial services.

Under this agreement, MCB Bank, MCB Lite Branchless Banking customers will gain access to Telenor Microfinance Bank/Easypaisa’s diverse network of more than 75,000 agents nationwide.

Now customers will be able to walk into any Easypaisa retail outlet and deposit funds into their MCB wallet and also withdraw cash from the retailer at their own convenience anywhere.

Easypaisa introduces first ever Money Transfer facility through biometric verification devices

Islamabad, July 28, 2016:

Easypaisa, Pakistan’s leading Mobile Financial Service provider, has introduced the first ever Biometric Money Transfer facility on the extensive network of Easypaisa retailers across Pakistan.

Customers using Mobile Financial Services had frequently requested for higher limits that catered to their financial needs. Before the launch of biometric money transfer service, customers could send or receive up to PKR 15,000 in a month from Easypaisa retailers. Now, using biometric services, customers can avail advanced limits of up to PKR 50,000 and transfer higher amounts. Telenor Bank announced that Ali Riaz Chaudhry has assumed the role of bank’s new President & Chief Executive Officer effective yesterday. Ali was appointed to take charge after Telenor Group completed its 100% acquisition of Telenor Bank last month.

JCR-VIS Reaffirms Ratings of Telenor Bank at A+/A-1

JCR/VIS Credit Rating Company Limited (JCR-VIS) has reaffirmed the entity ratings of Telenor Bank (TMBL) at ‘A+/A-1’ (Single A Plus/ A-One). Outlook on the assigned rating is ‘Stable’. The previous rating action was announced on April 17, 2015.

The assigned ratings to TMBL incorporate implicit support of the bank’s sponsor ‘Telenor Group’ (TG) which during the year increased its shareholding in the bank from 51% to 100%. TG has a credit rating of A/A-1 (Single A/ A-One) on the international scale. Ratings also derive strength from TMBL’s adequate liquidity profile and strong risk adjusted capitalization level which despite imposition of a cap on gold backed loans (with lower risk weight) is expected to remain healthy, Moreover, diversified revenue stream comprising income from investment & loan book and branchless banking (BB) provided support to assessment of TMBL’s profitability metrics.

Salman Faruqui NI, has established the Grievance Commissioner Cell for overseas Pakistanis in Federal Ombudsman Secretariat by appointing Hafiz Ahsaan Ahmad Khokhar Advocate Supreme Court of Pakistan, Senior Advisor Law / Registrar as “Grievance Commissioner for overseas Pakistanis” under section (7) of the Federal Ombudsman Institutional Reforms Act,2013 to address the individual and systematic issues of the Overseas Pakistanis related to the Federal Government Ministries, Departments, Organizations and Agencies.
