Telenor Microfinance Bank & easypaisa has demonstrated unwavering determination to not only create a financially inclusive economy but also to foster an inclusive working environment. In partnership with NOWPDP, an organization that empowers individuals with disabilities, the Head Office warmly embraced new team members as part of our gen-e family.

Under our Diversity & Inclusion initiative, we have successfully onboarded 18 team members across various functions at the Head Office in Karachi and Regional Office in Islamabad. At Telenor Microfinance Bank & easypaisa, our aim is not only to create an environment that promotes inclusivity but also to empower and inspire our colleagues to reach new personal milestones. Through this initiative, we are dedicated to providing equal opportunities, nurturing talent, and encouraging the growth and development of every individual.

At Telenor Microfinance Bank, regular gender sensitization and D&I trainings are conducted to enhance the effectiveness of our inclusion initiative. These training sessions contribute to better staff management by fostering a respectful and inclusive work environment. They reinforce our core values of diversity, equality, and integration, creating a transformative space that paves the way for profound and impactful societal change in the social landscape of Pakistan.

 

We hosted a breathing books session at our Head Office in Karachi and Regional Office in Islamabad, addressing common prejudices and challenging stereotypes through open dialogue. A unique concept of listening to live stories of resilience and strength instead of books, gaining essential knowledge and insight, strengthening relationships, and enhancing diversity.

Model Branch

To ensure their access to our infrastructure, products, and services, we have developed a model branch specifically designed for accessibility. This model branch serves as a testament to our commitment to creating an inclusive environment where PWDs can navigate our facilities comfortably and access our offerings without any hindrance. We have considered the unique needs of PWDs and have implemented measures to make their experience seamless and enjoyable.

Talking ATM

At the Dakkhana Branch in Karachi, Telenor Microfinance Bank has introduced a Talking ATM that caters specifically to visually impaired individuals. This innovative solution aims to empower visually impaired persons by granting them financial independence and privacy. The Talking ATM eliminates the challenges faced by visually impaired individuals when using touch screens, FDKs, or other soft keys. With audio support available in major regional languages, as well as English and Urdu, it provides greater ease of access.

To ensure customer privacy, sensitive information is protected through blacked-out screens. The Talking ATM Solution is activated automatically upon insertion of a headphone jack or via a predefined EPP sequence. It simplifies the customer journey for visually impaired persons by offering predefined, limited transactions such as Fast Cash and Balance Enquiry. This approach ensures compliance with ADA standards and SBP guidelines, keeping the self-service fleet in line with accessibility requirements.
